Job Description

About the Role

The Quality Control Specialist role at Intellectix is a critical position that ensures the accuracy and quality of transcripts from legal proceedings, witness interviews, and other complex interactions. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and editing transcripts to guarantee 99-100% accuracy, while also providing excellent customer service and maintaining strict confidentiality. The role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. What You Will Do

  • Proofread transcripts of legal proceedings, witness interviews, and other complex interactions for accuracy, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting.
  • Review transcripts for compliance with applicable legal and customer-specified standards.
  • Verify formatting guidelines and template rules are applied consistently across transcripts produced by multiple transcriptionists.
  • Transcribe, re-transcribe, and correct transcripts that do not meet standards.
  • Develop mastery of proprietary cloud-based transcription platforms and provide actionable feedback to drive product improvement.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all conversations and documents, adhering to privacy laws and company policies regarding sensitive information.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the transcription team to ensure consistent quality and formatting of transcripts.
  • Participate in quality control audits to ensure accuracy and quality of transcripts.

What We Are Looking For

  • Certified by the American Association of Electronic Reporters and Transcribers (AAERT) or a minimum of one year of experience transcribing digital recordings of courtroom proceedings.
  • Knowledge of and experience using transcription equipment and software to facilitate the transcription of digital audio recordings.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • High conscientiousness and a strong internal drive to deliver high-quality work.
  • Pattern recognition and the ability to quickly spot deviations from formatting rules and style guides.
  • Efficient and deadline-oriented, with the ability to self-motivate and manage varying workloads within allotted timeframes.
  • Excellent command of the English language and familiarity with general transcription standards, practices, and formatting guidelines.

Nice to Have

  • Ability to type 65 words per minute or faster.
  • Experience transcribing legal proceedings and interviews.
  • Familiarity with For The Record (FTR) and/or VIQ RC Player.
  • Fluency in one or more languages besides English.
