About the Role
As a Rating Associate at EMC Insurance Companies, you will play a vital role in the company's endorsement process. Your primary responsibility will be to review and process endorsements within your specified rating authority, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with underwriters, agents, and other team members to provide excellent customer service and support.The Rating Associate role is a key part of the company's operations, and your expertise will help drive business results. What You Will Do
- Review and process endorsements within your specified rating authority
- Update appropriate information based on line of business authority, including updating VIN numbers and increasing deductibles or liabilities limits
- Contact agents for basic information to complete an endorsement as needed
- Process cancellations and reinstatements
- Assist in entering rating information into the rating system to provide quotes and issue policies for new business and renewals
- Enter information into the rating system, including larger schedules and updates
- Perform support duties for branch departments, including ordering reports and obtaining information for new and existing business
- Complete bulk updates and projects as received from corporate departments
- Complete rating trainings and learning courses
- Consult with experienced rating associates to ask questions and gain understanding of rating processes and procedures
What We Are Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalency
- One year of office support experience preferred
- General knowledge of insurance terminology preferred
- Good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent communication and human relations skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent customer service skills
Nice to Have
- Experience working in the insurance industry
- Knowledge of rating systems and software
- Certification in insurance or a related field
- Bilingual or multilingual skills
