Job Description

About the Role

As a React (Next JS) Developer at Photon Interactive UK Limited, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance web applications using React.js and Next.js. Your primary focus will be on building production-ready features, integrating with backend/BFF APIs, and ensuring high code quality. You will work closely with the React Lead, UX/UI designers, QA, DevOps, and backend teams to deliver modern web applications aligned with enterprise architecture and business requirements.

The role entails collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, developing responsive, interactive, and accessible web pages, and implementing server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), and incremental static regeneration (ISR) as required. You will also be responsible for building reusable components, custom hooks, and libraries, ensuring cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness.

What You Will Do

  • Develop responsive, interactive, and accessible web pages using React.js and Next.js
  • Implement server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), and incremental static regeneration (ISR) as required
  • Build reusable components, custom hooks, and libraries
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness
  • Utilize Next.js features effectively, including getServerSideProps, getStaticProps, and getStaticPaths
  • Implement efficient caching and prefetching strategies for faster UX
  • Manage application state using Redux Toolkit, Zustand, Recoil, or Context API + Hooks
  • Integrate with REST or GraphQL APIs from BFF/backend layers
  • Handle errors, loading states, and fallback UI for smoother user experiences
  • Work with designers to implement pixel-perfect UIs aligned with the enterprise design system
  • Implement accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA) and responsive design best practices

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in frontend development
  • Strong expertise in React.js (Hooks, Context, Custom Hooks) and Next.js (SSR, SSG, ISR, Routing, API routes)
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, Sass, Styled Components, and Tailwind CSS
  • Experience with state management (Redux Toolkit, Zustand, Recoil) and RESTful APIs / GraphQL
  • Familiarity with performance optimization and debugging, unit & integration testing frameworks (Jest, RTL)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern build tools (Webpack, Vite)
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to debug complex issues
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to work in Agile/Scrum teams
  • Detail-oriented with focus on high-quality, maintainable code

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Storybook or other design libraries
  • Familiarity with security best practices and secure coding practices
  • Knowledge of Cypress or Playwright for end-to-end testing
  • Experience with agile project management tools like Jira or Asana
  • Certification in React.js or Next.js
