About the Role
The Regional Manager, Sales Engineering at Datadog is a pivotal role that combines technical expertise with leadership acumen. What You Will Do
- Partner with the Sales Team to develop and deliver sales presentations, product demonstrations, and technical evaluations that showcase the Datadog value proposition
- Manage a team of Sales Engineers, providing coaching, guidance, and support to ensure customer success and revenue growth
- Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract and hire top Sales Engineering talent
- Collaborate with Product Management, Support, and Enablement teams to ensure continuity between pre-sales and post-sales activities
- Deliver semi-annual performance reviews and collaborate on individual development plans for team members
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Datadog's solutions, competitor offerings, and industry trends
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and partners
- Provide input on sales engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to drive efficiency and effectiveness
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in a Sales Engineering leadership role, with a proven track record of success
- 5+ years of experience in a Sales Engineering or related field, with a strong understanding of technical sales principles
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong technical skills, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly
- Experience with current infrastructure and monitoring solutions and technologies
- Proven ability to recruit, mentor, and develop top Sales Engineering talent
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand and articulate the business benefits of Datadog's solutions
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders
