About the Role
The Regional Manager, Sales Engineering role at Datadog is a unique opportunity to lead a team of talented sales engineers and drive customer success in the UK region. As a key member of the pre-sales team, you will be responsible for managing a team of leaders and individual contributors, ensuring customer success pre-sale, and partnering with the sales team to articulate the overall Datadog value proposition.The role requires a strong understanding of the technical aspects of Datadog's products and services, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills. The successful candidate will have experience in managing sales engineering teams, recruiting top talent, and developing close working relationships with product management, support, and enablement teams.

What You Will Do
- Partner with the sales team to articulate the overall Datadog value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers
- Manage a team of leaders and individual contributors, helping to ensure customer success pre-sale
- Assist recruiting efforts to find and hire top talent within the region
- Mentor and coach new hires during onboarding to ensure proper ramping of skills and capabilities
- Ensure that the team is enabled to support all required Datadog solutions along with key technical and soft skills
- Develop a close working relationship with product management, support, and enablement teams
- Deliver semi-annual performance reviews along with collaborating on and executing individual development plans
- Build and execute an evaluation plan with customers and mentor others on how to do so
- Think strategically and creatively about a wide variety of challenges
What We Are Looking For
- Experienced sales engineering team lead or mentorship role with 1-3+ years of experience
- 3+ years of experience in a sales engineering or other equivalent client-facing role
- Coachable, with a strong desire to improve and grow as a professional
- Proven ability to grow and develop a team
- Experienced in recruiting both individual contributors and front-line leaders
- Knowledgeable in current infrastructure and monitoring solutions and technologies
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to understand and articulate both the business benefits and technical advantages of Datadog's offering
- Ability to think strategically and creatively about a wide variety of challenges
