About the Role
The Regional Vice President, Health Plan Sales (Mental Health) plays a pivotal role in driving growth within the health plan segment by securing, expanding, and deepening strategic partnerships with leading payers. This involves a dedicated focus on Sword's Mental Health AI Care platform (Mind), leveraging AI-driven solutions to address the global mental health crisis. As a key member of the commercial team, the Regional VP will own regional market development, build a high-quality pipeline, and lead or co-lead end-to-end deal execution for complex and high-impact opportunities in the behavioral health space.The role emphasizes heavy collaboration within the cohort of Regional VPs to share market intelligence and align on national account strategies to collectively accelerate growth within the health plan sectors. This position requires a strategic mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, and the ability to cultivate executive-level relationships. The Regional VP will serve as a primary commercial representative for Sword's Mental Health AI Care platform, positioning AI-driven mental health solutions as a category-defining answer to the global mental health crisis.

What You Will Do
- Prospect, educate, accelerate, and close complex enterprise deals with regional and national health plans.
- Develop and articulate compelling value propositions tailored to payer economics, clinical performance, and total cost-of-care impact.
- Build, nurture, and expand senior executive relationships with health plan decision-makers and industry influencers.
- Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to build strategic collateral, refine financial models, and solve complex payer-specific challenges.
- Build and maintain a robust, accurate pipeline, including forecasting, dashboards, and performance reporting.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless deal execution and long-term account success.
- Serve as a spokesperson for Sword at industry events, conferences, and partner forums.
- Leverage deep payer relationships and market knowledge to gain access to new accounts and accelerate multi-line expansion.
- Influence regional go-to-market strategy and contribute to continuous improvement across the Health Plans sales motion.
- Champion a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and high performance, supporting peers and contributing to broader commercial team development.
What We Are Looking For
- 10+ years of Sales or Business Development experience, with 3+ years selling directly into the Mental Health space.
- Deep understanding of the payer landscape and diverse lines of business (Commercial, ASO/self-funded, Medicare Advantage, ACA).
- Proven track record of exceeding quota and closing complex, multi-year enterprise agreements.
- Experience leading executive-level relationships, negotiations, and financial modeling.
- Ability to launch and scale new markets with limited guidance.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership, resilience, and an action-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with data analysis and financial planning.
- Strong network within the healthcare industry, particularly among health plan executives.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI-driven healthcare solutions or mental health technology.
- Knowledge of the current healthcare landscape, including trends and regulatory changes.
- Certification in sales or a related field, such as a Certified Sales Professional (CSP) or Certified National Pharmaceutical Representative (CNPR).
- Experience with CRM software, such as Salesforce.
