About the Role
The Lead Data Scientist Gen AI position at Lingaro is a pivotal role that focuses on delivering end-to-end Talk-To-Data (TTD) solutions powered by Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI models. Day-to-day, you will be working closely with the AI team to support the development of novel aspects of Generative AI, including applications such as RAG, summarization, multi-agent workflows, and model fine-tuning. Your deep expertise in GenAI, NLP, and Computer Vision will be crucial in driving the success of these projects.As part of the Data Science and AI Competency Center, you will be working in a dynamic environment that encourages growth and learning. You will have the opportunity to work with top-tier engineers and experts, and contribute to the development of cutting-edge AI solutions. The role involves a high level of autonomy, with the flexibility to choose your working hours and preferred form of contract, including the option to work remotely.
What You Will Do
- Support the build of end-to-end GenAI applications, including chatbots, voicebots, and Talk-to-Data systems, focusing on data ingestion, retrieval layer, orchestration, API/backend, and simple UI development.
- Implement RAG pipelines with vector databases, hybrid search, rerankers, query transformation, and evaluation frameworks for relevance and robustness.
- Perform model selection, prompting strategies, and fine-tuning for text, code, and multimodal models, including guardrails, output evaluation, and A/B testing.
- Integrate and optimize LLMs interaction with external tools, APIs, and data sources in a standardized and scalable way by using Model Context Protocol (MCP) connectors.
- Conduct business understanding and translate problems into technical goals by defining tasks, auditing data feasibility, and highlighting issues.
- Support project delivery, ensuring that projects are completed on time and to the required standard.
- Collaborate with the team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in knowledge sharing sessions and contribute to the development of the company's AI capabilities.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, and apply this knowledge to improve the team's projects.
What We Are Looking For
- Familiarity with the theory behind various deep learning concepts, including Generative AI and NLP.
- Experience with Machine Learning (ML), especially in Generative AI (LLM/LMM) with a focus on Natural Language Processing (NLP) or multimodal models.
- Fluency in Python and object programming, with a working knowledge of SQL and vector databases.
- Experience with cloud tech stacks in Azure or GCP.
- Knowledge of specific Deep Learning and GenAI libraries, including NumPy, PyTorch, HuggingFace, LangChain, LangGraph, and GenAI APIs like OpenAI/Gemini.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to come up with creative solutions to address customer problems.
- Experience working with microservice architectures and code repositories.

- Experience working with Databricks.
- Commercial experience proven by multiple successful projects in Generative AI, Natural Language Processing, or Computer Vision.
- Experience with code assistants and strong knowledge of agile development methodologies.
