About the Role
As a Regulatory Policy Senior Associate at Coinbase, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's regulatory policy and advocacy efforts. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, legal, and policy, to establish internal policy views on emergent regulatory issues. Your expertise in regulatory policy, Excel, and blockchain technology will be essential in driving the company's mission to increase economic freedom.The role is part of a dynamic team that is passionate about the power of crypto and blockchain technology to update the financial system. You will be expected to produce high-quality written materials, including consultation responses and presentations, and brief executive-level audiences on the potential impact of new or proposed rules on products and practices.

What You Will Do
- Work with cross-functional teams to establish internal policy views on emergent regulatory issues
- Draft written materials, such as consultation responses and presentations, for external engagements
- Brief executive-level audiences on the potential impact of new or proposed rules on products and practices
- Work with trade groups to establish consensus industry positions on alternative regulatory approaches
- Organize and lead external engagements with regulators and standard setters
- Collaborate with product teams to develop new policy positions and advocacy strategies
- Provide regulatory policy expertise to support business development and growth initiatives
- Stay up-to-date with regulatory developments and trends in the crypto and blockchain space
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, policymakers, and industry leaders
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or non-US equivalent in finance, economics, law, or a related field
- Minimum of 6+ years of financial services regulatory experience, ideally focused on CFTC, SEC, and/or prudential regulation
- Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality written materials
- Familiarity with digital asset regulation or policy, including U.S. and global markets regulations, prudential regulation, and payments regulations
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams of subject matter experts
- Superb attention to detail and ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots
- Understanding of blockchain-based technology, products, and services
Nice to Have
- Advanced degree in finance, economics, or law
- Management consulting experience
- Experience working at a multi-client law firm
- Experience responding to regulatory consultations, or equivalent experience from the government side
- Experience with a government agency or regulatory body
