About the Role

As a Podiatry Utilization Review professional at Medical Review Institute of America, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that healthcare services are delivered efficiently and effectively. What You Will Do

  • Conduct thorough and independent reviews of podiatry services to determine the medical necessity and appropriateness of care.
  • Utilize clinical expertise and knowledge of current medical literature to assess the quality of care provided.
  • Communicate review findings and recommendations to healthcare providers in a clear and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with other reviewers and stakeholders to ensure consistency in review outcomes and to discuss complex cases.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of reviews, including documentation of decisions and rationales.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advancements in podiatry and changes in regulatory requirements.
  • Apply Excel skills to manage data, track review metrics, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to all applicable HIPAA regulations and company policies regarding the confidentiality, privacy, and security of sensitive health information.
  • Engage in peer-to-peer conversations during daytime hours as necessary for the review process.

What We Are Looking For

  • A degree in Podiatry from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as a podiatrist in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Board certification in Podiatry.
  • A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, with residency experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel and ability to learn and adapt to new software systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage in productive discussions with healthcare providers.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to evaluate complex clinical information.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
