About the Role

The Research Solutions Account & Strategic Sales Manager role is a pivotal position at RELX, where you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and developing strategic partnerships with academic institutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand customer needs and develop tailored solutions that meet their research goals. As a key member of the Research Intelligence team, you will be at the forefront of transforming the research landscape through AI-powered solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the research sector, with experience in consultative sales and strategic account management. You will be working with a portfolio of AI-powered research intelligence platforms, data licensing, and solutions products, and will be responsible for championing these solutions to academic institutions.

The role will involve working independently, as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams, to drive revenue growth and develop long-term partnerships. You will be expected to maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline management, using tools such as Salesforce, and to gather and share market and competitive insights to inform product and go-to-market strategy.

What You Will Do

  • Drive revenue growth across a portfolio of AI-powered research intelligence platforms, data licensing, and solutions products
  • Champion AI-enabled research discovery, analytics, and insight tools that help customers work faster and more effectively
  • Use a consultative sales approach to understand customer challenges and develop tailored, high-impact solutions
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with libraries, research offices, and academic leadership teams
  • Develop and execute account strategies that expand partnerships and deliver long-term value
  • Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline management using tools such as Salesforce
  • Gather and share market and competitive insights to inform product and go-to-market strategy
  • Represent RELX at academic conferences and higher-education events to generate meaningful engagement and pipeline
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement sales strategies
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to drive sales growth

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience managing complex accounts and achieving revenue targets in a consultative sales environment
  • Ability to engage credibly with senior academic, research, or institutional stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of data, analytics, or technology-enabled solutions, with curiosity about AI in research
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate customer needs into actionable account plans
  • Comfort working with CRM and forecasting tools to manage opportunities and performance
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience working in the research sector, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of sales principles and practices
  • Experience with Salesforce, Adjust, and Excel
