About the Role
The Research Solutions & Strategic Sales Manager role at RELX is a remote, full-time position that requires a unique blend of sales, technical, and interpersonal skills. As a key member of the sales team, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth through the sale of research intelligence solutions to clients in the states of CO, KS, MT, ND, SD, WY, NE, and MO. Your day-to-day activities will involve understanding client needs, developing tailored solutions, and building strong relationships with decision-makers.The role is home-based, with a preference for candidates residing in one of the specified states. You will work closely with regional and federal government agencies, as well as internal teams, to develop and implement sales strategies that meet market needs and align with company policies.
What You Will Do
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets for a portfolio of scientific databases and solutions
- Conduct regular reviews of sales results and forecasts, adjusting actions accordingly
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and influencers at the customer level
- Gather, monitor, and evaluate competitive information to inform sales strategies and product development
- Participate in trade shows and conferences to promote research solutions and gather market feedback
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement account plans and sales approaches
- Utilize Salesforce and other sales enablement tools to track sales activity and performance
- Provide market feedback to enhance product development and inform sales strategies
- Work closely with regional and federal government agencies to develop projects for scientific databases and solutions
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of client needs and market trends
What We Are Looking For
- University degree, Master's or degree in a technical field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of sales experience at senior levels, with a proven track record of selling technology and solutions
- Experience with GTM, Salesforce, and Adjust
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships with multiple stakeholders
- Self-motivated and driven, with a consultative selling approach
- Ability to operate on an operational, tactical, and strategic level
- Experience in building out business with customers and connecting the dots within customer institutions
- Background in complex solution-sales approach and enterprise software sales
Nice to Have
- Experience in research administration and management functions
- Knowledge of regional or national research programs, collaboration networks, and key opinion leaders
- Experience working in an international matrixed organization
- Familiarity with specific Research Intelligence solution areas
