What You Will Do

  • Manage the shop in the manager's absence, ensuring customers are looked after, deliveries are processed efficiently, and shop routines are completed to maintain a safe, clean, and tidy environment.
  • Open and close the shop, handle cash transactions, place orders, and develop your team of retail assistants.
  • Take responsibility for controlling operational costs, including shrinkage, waste, and payroll.
  • Build strong working relationships with your team and customers, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
  • Support the training and development of retail assistants to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Ensure all shop routines are completed to the highest standard, maintaining a clean and tidy shop at all times.
  • Handle customer complaints and issues professionally and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the manager to implement sales strategies and promote products.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge to advise customers and make recommendations.

  • Willingness to complete a Basic DBS check (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check (Scotland) if hired.
