About the Role
The Revenue Accountant role at Elevenlabs is a critical position that requires a deep understanding of revenue recognition and accounting principles. As a key member of the finance team, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company's revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with ASC 606, and providing expert guidance on revenue-related matters. The role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, legal, and billing operations, to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition.The Revenue Accountant will be responsible for leading the revenue close process, managing deferred revenue, and performing journal entry reviews. They will also be required to partner with the sales team to review contracts and assess performance obligations, ensuring that revenue is recognized accurately and in accordance with company policies.

What You Will Do
- Manage the revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with ASC 606
- Lead the revenue close process, including managing deferred revenue and performing journal entry reviews
- Partner with the sales team to review contracts and assess performance obligations
- Provide expert guidance on revenue-related matters to cross-functional teams
- Build scalable processes to support the company's growing revenue model
- Coordinate with external auditors to ensure accurate and compliant financial statements
- Manage technical standards and ensure compliance with company policies
- Develop and maintain financial models to support revenue forecasting and planning
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Stay up-to-date with changes in revenue recognition standards and regulatory requirements
What We Are Looking For
- Deep expertise in ASC 606, including multi-element arrangements, SSP evaluation, variable consideration, contract modifications, and principal vs. agent analysis
- Experience leading the revenue close process, including deferred revenue management and journal entry review
- Track record of partnering with sales and legal teams on contract review and revenue impact assessments
- Experience operating in a pre-IPO or public company environment, with direct exposure to external audit and controls build-out
- Strong understanding of financial accounting and reporting principles
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with financial planning and analysis, including budgeting and forecasting
Nice to Have
- Experience with financial planning and analysis software, such as Anaplan or Adaptive Insights
- Knowledge of machine learning and AI applications in finance
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
- Certification in accounting, such as CPA or CMA
