About the Role

The Revenue Accountant position at V-Key is a crucial part of the finance team, focusing on revenue recognition, contract management, and reporting. This role is essential for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions and reports. As a Revenue Accountant, you will work closely with key stakeholders, including the Legal and Sales teams, to review contracts, negotiate terms, and provide financial insights.

The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will involve constant updates to the revenue tracking sheet, following up on project status to ensure timely billing, and preparing monthly journal entries for revenue recognition. This position requires a high level of detail orientation, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with the Legal and Sales teams on contract review, negotiation, and drafting, providing finance insights on pricing, milestone billing, tax, and liability.
  • Constantly update the revenue tracking sheet to ensure accurate and timely billing.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to research and resolve any contract terms or billing discrepancies and disputes.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries for revenue recognition and reconciliation of deferred or unbilled revenue accounts in accordance with International Accounting Standards.
  • Compute monthly sales commission and issue commission sheets.
  • Perform monthly short-term and long-term revenue and cash inflow forecasts.
  • Support the Finance Director with the preparation of revenue metrics, profitability analysis, variance analysis, and other finance matters as required.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and recommend policies and procedures to ensure revenue and expenses are appropriately recorded.
  • Review existing processes to identify and drive process improvements.
  • Assist in budgeting, statutory audits, tax compliance, and other ad-hoc projects as assigned.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting, preferably in revenue accounting within a technology or SaaS environment.
  • Certified Public Accountant (or equivalent) certification is an added advantage.
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS accounting and its application, with experience from an international firm or a top firm in India preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and hands-on experience with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks.
  • Diligent, highly efficient, and accurate with extreme attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and manage changing priorities.
  • Proactive with a strong sense of responsibility and urgency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
