Job Description

About the Role

The Revenue Cycle Auditor RN is a critical role at Providence, responsible for providing patient-focused, standardized, and compliant revenue cycle support. This role will assist Providence St Joseph Health in meeting its financial objectives, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care while also optimizing revenue streams. As a key member of the Revenue Cycle Business Services team, the successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve inefficiencies in charge capture and revenue cycle processes.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include analyzing data, identifying trends, and implementing process improvements to optimize revenue cycle performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing, with experience in acute care settings and a deep understanding of EPIC and MEDITECH systems.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct thorough audits of patient records to ensure accurate and compliant coding and billing practices
  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement in revenue cycle performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and optimize revenue streams
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clinical and administrative staff to ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Utilize EPIC and MEDITECH systems to analyze data and identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement training programs to educate staff on revenue cycle best practices
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to optimize patient care and revenue cycle performance
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement strategic plans to optimize revenue cycle performance

What We Are Looking For

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing, or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • 5 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting
  • 3 years of experience utilizing EPIC or MEDITECH and data reporting functions
  • 3 years of experience working with Revenue Cycle team members to accomplish specific objectives
  • Strong background in charge capture and revenue cycle processes
  • Experience in a high production, deadline-oriented professional work environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills

Nice to Have

  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or equivalent
  • Experience working in case management or similar function in an acute care setting
  • Experience in a Revenue Cycle or Revenue Integrity role
  • Experience working in a multi-hospital and/or integrated healthcare system
