About the Role

The Senior UX Designer position at Rubicon Path is a pivotal role that involves creating effective, user-friendly, and visually appealing interfaces for a variety of digital projects. This includes designing the overall functionality of products to ensure a great user experience, with a key emphasis on iterating designs based on user testing. The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative team environment, working closely with cross-functional teams to bring design concepts to life. The role is remote, based in Canada, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work with a dynamic team that values innovative digital solutions.

The day-to-day responsibilities will involve taking a user-centered design approach, conducting user research, and rapidly testing and iterating on designs. This role is crucial for Rubicon Path as it directly contributes to the company's mission of providing engaging and intuitive digital experiences. The Senior UX Designer will report to the Design Lead and will be responsible for mentoring junior designers, contributing to the development of the design team, and ensuring that all design solutions meet the company's high standards.

What You Will Do

  • Design user interfaces for various projects, including digital displays, publications, media, and other creative materials, ensuring they are user-friendly and visually appealing.
  • Take a user-centered design approach, rapidly testing and iterating on designs based on user feedback and research findings.
  • Conceive and conduct user research, interviews, and surveys, translating them into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop and maintain a high bar for user experience standards and performance measures.
  • Lead the design of complex digital services from concept to production, ensuring they meet user needs and business objectives.
  • Draw on your expertise to develop and maintain design standards, best practices, and design systems.
  • Create design deliverables such as mood boards, collaboration boards, empathy maps, user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes.
  • Facilitate client product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping, and user-testing experiences for digital products.
  • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions that meet user needs and are feasible to implement.
  • Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core and new functions and features.
  • Gather user feedback to configure existing interfaces, ensuring they remain intuitive and user-friendly.

What We Are Looking For

  • Relevant experience creating GUI designs based on user interaction and performance, with a focus on web and mobile applications.
  • Experience as a UX designer, interactive designer, UI designer, or similar role, with a portfolio that showcases your ability to design intuitive and engaging user experiences.
  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools, particularly Figma and XDstudio.
  • Thorough understanding of the limitations and appropriate use of web development technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience designing online programs with an emphasis on the emotional aspects of human experience, understanding how to create engaging and empathetic design solutions.
  • Ability to conceive and conduct user research, interviews, and surveys, and translate them into actionable design insights.
  • Experience designing the overall functionality of the product and iterating upon it in accordance with user-testing, ensuring that design solutions meet user needs and are intuitive.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and human-computer interaction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, mentoring junior designers and contributing to the development of the design team.
  • Experience with network security and network protocols is desirable.

  • Knowledge of front-end development principles and coding skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with design systems and creating design standards and best practices.
  • Familiarity with web analytics tools and the ability to incorporate data into design decisions.
