About the Role

The RTX Consumables Sub-Category Lead is a key position within the company's strategic sourcing team, responsible for leading the execution of strategic sourcing initiatives at the business unit level for various Consumables sub-categories. This role serves as a liaison between business unit stakeholders and RTX strategic sourcing, focusing on internal business assessments, supplier engagement, execution of corporate sourcing strategies, issue resolution, and continuous supplier performance improvement.

As a Consumables Sub-Category Lead, you will be responsible for driving category plans focused on GMRE integration, Ariba/catalog utilization, MTA transitions, and spend optimization to maximize financial impact. You will work closely with business unit stakeholders to maintain strategic and financial alignment with RTX objectives, ensuring cohesive decision-making.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver detailed analytical and quantitative support for proposal development and business case evaluations to ensure financial viability and alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Address contract-related inquiries and provide oversight to ensure compliance with terms, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with financial goals.
  • Aggregate and report power steering cost savings to enhance visibility and inform financial planning.
  • Support the creation and alignment of scopes of work (SOW) to ensure consistency with RTX strategies and financial directives.
  • Work closely with business unit stakeholders to maintain strategic and financial alignment with RTX objectives, ensuring cohesive decision-making.
  • Drive category plans focused on GMRE integration, Ariba/catalog utilization, MTA transitions, and spend optimization to maximize financial impact.
  • Partner with business unit sites to define and implement service scopes in site-level SOWs, ensuring alignment with financial objectives and operational efficiency.
  • Create and maintain a centralized repository of business unit key functional contacts to streamline communication and enhance coordination for financial and operational initiatives.
  • Compile a comprehensive database of business unit consumables contracts to support GMRE analysis, identify cost-saving opportunities, and facilitate efficient MTA spend transitions.
  • Work with business units and planning teams to refine forecast data, enabling improved financial planning, budgeting, and decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain a database of commodity market data, including weekly/monthly price trends, to guide contract negotiations, manage budget impacts, and anticipate financial headwinds.

What We Are Looking For

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.
  • Proven ability to exercise independent business judgment to drive strategies and results.
  • Proven ability to work with global and regional teams to achieve results through leadership and influence.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop creative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Adjust and Excel, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.
  • Strong understanding of strategic sourcing principles and practices, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
