About the Role
As a Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier with Canada Post, you'll be responsible for delivering mail to various communities, often in remote or hard-to-reach areas. This role requires a unique blend of physical stamina, technical skills, and excellent customer service. You'll be operating a motor vehicle in diverse weather and traffic conditions, so a strong focus on safety and adaptability is essential.The role of a Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier is critical to Canada Post's operations, as it ensures that communities across the country receive their mail and parcels in a timely and efficient manner. You'll be working independently, but will also be part of a larger team that is dedicated to providing excellent service to customers.

What You Will Do
- Deliver mail and parcels to customers in a safe and timely manner
- Operate a motor vehicle in diverse weather and traffic conditions
- Utilize digital skills to navigate and manage delivery routes
- Sort, collect, and deliver mail items, including packages and parcels
- Provide excellent customer service to residents and businesses in the delivery area
- Maintain a high level of physical fitness to lift and carry mail items
- Process various Canada Post products and services, including Change of Address Notification and Items Delivered Bill
- Wear Canada Post identification and ensure its visibility while on delivery
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of local infrastructure, including roads, customers, and delivery receptacles
What We Are Looking For
- A valid permanent provincial driver's license (class 5 or G)
- A satisfactory safe driving record (driver's abstract required)
- Experience in making deliveries and operating a motor vehicle in diverse weather and traffic conditions
- Strong physical stamina to lift and carry mail items up to 50 lb/22.7 kg
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of digital tools and technology, including GPS navigation systems
- High school diploma or equivalent

- Previous experience as a mail carrier or in a related role
- Knowledge of local infrastructure and geography
- Familiarity with Canada Post products and services
- Certification in first aid or emergency response
