About the Role
The Sales Associate role at Gusto is a unique opportunity to join a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about empowering small businesses to succeed. As a key member of the sales team, you will be responsible for managing a high volume of inbound calls, chats, and emails from customers at various stages of their journey with Gusto. Your primary objective will be to provide exceptional customer service, identify potential sales opportunities, and guide customers through the onboarding process. You will be working closely with a team of over a hundred sales professionals who share a deep passion for solutions selling and a commitment to delivering outstanding results.The sales team at Gusto is built on the principles of communal goals, team spirit, and a leadership that prioritizes selling the right way. As a Sales Associate, you will be expected to embody these values and contribute to the team's overall success. Your day-to-day activities will involve managing inbound volume, maintaining accurate records in Salesforce, and exercising advisory selling skills to help customers choose Gusto as their payroll platform.
What You Will Do
- Manage high-volume inbound calls, chats, and emails from customers at different points in their journey with Gusto
- Maintain accurate notes in Salesforce for all leads worked
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to ensure a positive experience for Gusto's customers
- Identify potential sales opportunities and guide customers through the onboarding process
- Exercise advisory selling skills to help customers select Gusto as their payroll platform
- Support customers in navigating the onboarding process and demonstrate sophisticated customer success skills
- Participate in community and career development opportunities to grow your skills and knowledge
- Utilize AI-powered workflows as a core part of your sales strategy and continually refine your skills in this area
- Collaborate with the sales team to achieve communal goals and contribute to the company's overall success
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in payroll and HR services
What We Are Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in sales, preferably in a technology or software-related field
- Proficiency in Salesforce and Excel, with the ability to quickly learn new software and tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Experience working with AI-powered workflows and a willingness to continually develop your skills in this area
- A strong understanding of the payroll and HR services industry, with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a remote or hybrid environment, with a strong ability to self-motivate and work independently
- Knowledge of cloud-based payroll solutions and a understanding of the benefits and challenges associated with their implementation
