About the Role

The Sales Development Manager, APJ role is a high-impact position that requires a seasoned sales professional to lead a multilingual, multi-country sales development team. As a key member of the Akamai sales organization, you will be responsible for driving pipeline creation across the APJ region, focusing on Akamai's Security and Cloud priorities. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating closely with sales, marketing, and partner teams to identify new business opportunities and develop strategic plans to pursue them.

The sales development team plays a critical role in the early stages of the sales cycle, working closely with the field and inside sales teams to guide potential customers through the sales process. As the Sales Development Manager, you will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and coach your team to achieve sales targets. You will also be responsible for data-driven coaching, pipeline inspection, and operational rigor, ensuring that your team is well-equipped to succeed in a fast-paced sales environment.

What You Will Do

  • Lead a multilingual, multi-country sales development team across the APJ region
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive pipeline creation and business growth
  • Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and partner teams to identify new business opportunities
  • Provide data-driven coaching and pipeline inspection to ensure sales team success
  • Demonstrate operational rigor and manage complexity across multiple APJ markets
  • Expand stakeholder management expectations across sales, marketing, partner teams, operations, enablement, and global SDR leadership
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Akamai's Security and Cloud priorities
  • Work closely with the field and inside sales teams to guide potential customers through the sales process
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, developing strategic plans to pursue them
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to inform sales strategies and optimize sales performance

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of sales experience, including sales management and sales training
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and leading high-performing sales teams
  • Strong understanding of sales operations, data-driven coaching, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Experience working with Salesforce and other sales tools, such as Lusha, ZoomInfo, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and consulting skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced sales environment, with a strong focus on results-driven sales performance
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and coach sales teams
  • Experience working in a global sales environment, with a deep understanding of cultural and regional nuances
