About the Role

The Sales Development Manager role at Danfoss is a strategic driver for the company's Power Solutions division, focusing on the Valve and Pump Solutions (VPS) product line. This remote position requires a results-driven individual who can identify and capture new business opportunities, build strong customer relationships, and expand the company's market share with OEM accounts. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the fluid power industry and a proven track record of driving sales growth.

As a key member of the sales team, the Sales Development Manager will collaborate with divisional sales teams to identify, pursue, and win new sales opportunities with direct OEM accounts. This will involve developing and presenting compelling customer proposals, establishing pricing strategies to meet profitability targets, and acting as the primary commercial and technical liaison for the VPS product line within the assigned territory.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with divisional sales teams to identify, pursue, and win new sales opportunities with direct OEM accounts
  • Develop and present compelling customer proposals to meet profitability targets
  • Establish pricing strategies to meet profitability targets
  • Act as the primary commercial and technical liaison for the VPS product line within the assigned territory
  • Foster strong relationships with customers through regular site visits
  • Champion new product launches, from building the initial pipeline to gathering customer feedback and conducting training
  • Track and report on new business growth targets, executing strategic initiatives set by sales leadership
  • Serve as a customer advocate, escalating and helping resolve quality or delivery challenges by coordinating with manufacturing plant leadership
  • Employ value-selling techniques to articulate the Danfoss advantage and maximize the ability to win
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth

What We Are Looking For

  • A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Agricultural Engineering is preferred; extensive equivalent industry experience will be strongly considered
  • 10+ years of experience in the fluid power industry, with a deep working knowledge of hydraulic circuits
  • Proven commercial background working directly with customers, ideally with OEMs
  • Specific sales experience with spool valves, open-circuit pumps, or HIC & cartridge valves is highly desirable
  • Self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and product lines concurrently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting both technical and commercial material
  • Ability to travel 25-50% to customer sites and Danfoss facilities
  • Proficiency in Excel and other sales-related tools
