About the Role

The Sales Development Representative role is a critical component of Genuine Parts Company's sales strategy, focusing on developing and nurturing sales opportunities with existing and potential customers. What You Will Do

  • Proactively make outbound calls to existing and potential customers to develop sales opportunities and expand the company's customer base.
  • Engage with decision-makers to understand customer needs, identify potential sales opportunities, and provide tailored solutions that meet those needs.
  • Collaborate with field sales teams and customer service representatives to ensure the effective execution of customer requests and the delivery of exceptional customer service.
  • Utilize CRM and other sales tools to manage sales leads, track customer interactions, and analyze sales performance metrics.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the company's products and services, staying up-to-date on new offerings and industry trends.
  • Present ecommerce capabilities to customers and provide training on these tools as needed, enhancing the customer experience and driving business growth through digital channels.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and professionally.
  • Participate in sales strategy sessions and contribute to the development of sales plans and forecasts.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of customer interactions, sales activities, and performance metrics, using data to inform sales strategies and improve outcomes.

What We Are Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor's degree in sales, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least two years of related sales experience, with a proven track record of success in sales development or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of sales principles, including prospecting, lead generation, and conversion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with CRM software.
