About the Role

As a Sales Development Representative at PagerDuty, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities through inbound and outbound motions among a group of accounts that fit the company's ideal customer profile. You will be reporting to the Manager, Commercial Sales Development, and your focus will be on building a pipeline for the Account Executives. The role entails researching, prospecting, qualifying leads, and initiating conversations to help build a strong sales pipeline.

The Sales Development Representative role is critical in driving revenue growth and expanding the company's customer base. You will be working closely with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and develop strategic plans to pursue them. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in sales development, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do

  • Generate new business opportunities through inbound and outbound motions among a group of accounts that fit the company's ideal customer profile
  • Research, prospect, qualify leads, and initiate conversations to help build a pipeline for the Account Executives
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to pursue new business opportunities
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at target accounts
  • Conduct discovery calls to understand customer needs and pain points
  • Develop and deliver tailored sales pitches and presentations to customers
  • Meet and exceed monthly sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to drive sales growth

What We Are Looking For

  • 1-2+ years of experience in sales development or a related field
  • Proven track record of success in sales development, with a strong focus on generating new business opportunities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Strong research and prospecting skills, with the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • Experience with sales tools and technologies, such as CRM software and sales automation platforms
  • Strong understanding of the sales process, with the ability to develop and execute strategic plans to pursue new business opportunities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on results and revenue growth
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and outside the box
