About the Role

The Sales Development Representative role at Plaid is a critical position that involves driving engagement with potential clients and identifying new business opportunities. As a key member of the GTM team, you will work closely with account executives to support new business efforts and liaise with marketing to design and provide feedback on campaigns.

The day-to-day responsibilities of this role are varied and challenging, requiring a deep understanding of Plaid's products and their applications in the financial services sector. You will be responsible for organizational mapping, prospecting individuals, and driving engagement to set opportunities for account executives.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute outbound campaigns to identify and engage with potential clients
  • Utilize Salesforce to manage leads, contacts, and accounts
  • Conduct high-level conversations with business stakeholders to understand their needs and introduce Plaid's solutions
  • Collaborate with marketing to design and improve campaigns
  • Provide feedback on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns
  • Identify the most promising verticals to drive increased revenue opportunities
  • Support account executives in their sales efforts
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of potential clients
  • Drive engagement through emails, calls, and other outreach methods
  • Continuously update and refine the sales strategy based on feedback and results

What We Are Looking For

  • 1-3 years of experience in pipeline development and/or sales, preferably in a SaaS company
  • Proven ability to lead high-level conversations with business stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of GTM strategies and their applications
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment
  • Resilience and a relentless mindset
  • Interest in financial services and technical products
  • Ability to learn the ins and outs of Plaid's APIs and products
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with financial institutions or in the fintech sector
  • Knowledge of technical products and the ability to explain them to non-technical stakeholders
