About the Role
The Sales Development Representative role at Plaid is a critical component of the company's New Business team, responsible for identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities. As a key member of this team, you'll work closely with Account Executives to drive revenue growth and expand Plaid's customer base. Your day-to-day activities will involve prospecting, outreach, and qualification of potential clients, as well as collaboration with the marketing team to design and execute targeted campaigns.The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the fintech industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively articulate Plaid's value proposition. You'll be working in a dynamic environment with a relentless focus on innovation and customer satisfaction. What You Will Do
- Identify and qualify potential clients through outbound campaigns and targeted outreach
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective customers, ensuring consistent growth and conversion
- Collaborate with Account Executives to drive sales conversations and close deals
- Liaise with the marketing team to design and execute targeted campaigns, providing feedback and insights to optimize results
- Develop a deep understanding of Plaid's products and services, as well as the fintech industry and market trends
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at potential client companies
- Conduct research to identify new sales opportunities and expand Plaid's customer base
- Utilize Salesforce.com to manage leads, track progress, and analyze sales performance
- Participate in sales meetings, presentations, and product demos to prospective clients
What We Are Looking For
- 1-3 years of experience in pipeline development and/or sales, preferably in a SaaS or tech company
- Proven track record of success in sales, with a strong focus on customer acquisition and revenue growth
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
- Strong understanding of the fintech industry, with a focus on payments, financial services, and related technologies
- Proficiency in using Salesforce.com or other CRM systems
- Experience working with customers and explaining technical products, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction
- Interest in financial services and technical products, with a high degree of intellectual curiosity
- Ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment, with a relentless mindset and unwillingness to quit
