About the Role
As a Sales Development Representative at Sunrun, you will play a vital role in driving the company's mission to connect people to clean energy. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing a high volume of inbound and outbound calls to prospective customers, educating them about the benefits of solar energy, and qualifying potential customers. You will be part of a dynamic team that values employee development, well-being, and safety.The role of a Sales Development Representative is crucial in creating a spectacular experience for potential customers. You will be the first point of contact for many customers, and your ability to communicate effectively and build trust will be essential in driving sales.
Sunrun's vertically integrated model gives the company total control over every part of the energy lifecycle, from sale through installation and beyond. This means that as a Sales Development Representative, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of customers and help them navigate the process of switching to solar energy.
What You Will Do
- Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound calls from prospective customers
- Educate customers about the benefits of solar energy and Sunrun's services
- Qualify potential customers by adhering to call quality standards
- Review prospect's roof material to qualify eligibility for solar
- Handle and overcome objections with integrity
- Gain confirmation that the prospective customer understands the benefits of solar and is knowledgeable of their consent to a signed sales agreement
- Create reasonable expectations with prospective customers of the steps that are required to obtain a solar system from Sunrun
- Manage solar prospect inquiries via email and online chat
- Re-engage with customers who require future contact
What We Are Looking For
- High School Diploma required
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in a call center environment
- Ability to communicate fluently in English
- Fluency in another language besides English is a plus
- Strong work ethic and ambition to succeed
- Proficient with email, Google suite, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools, with Salesforce preferred
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and some holiday shifts
Nice to Have
- Experience in the solar or renewable energy industry
- Knowledge of sales principles and practices
- Experience with sales software and technology
