Job Description

About the Role

The Sales Development Representative role at Wikimedia Enterprise is a critical position that involves translating the company's unique value proposition into a qualified pipeline. As the first point of contact for enterprise prospects, including technology companies, AI labs, media organizations, and large-scale platforms, the successful candidate will play a vital role in helping Wikimedia grow its commercial revenue. This revenue directly funds the Wikimedia mission, which is to provide free knowledge to every human being.

The role is detail-oriented and outbound-heavy, requiring the candidate to understand technical data products and API-based offerings to speak credibly with both business, product, and engineering stakeholders. The candidate will work closely with Account Executives and Product to move the right conversations from cold outreach to discovery.

What You Will Do

  • Own outbound prospecting for a defined set of verticals (ICP) and build and execute high-quality multi-touch sequences across email, phone, LinkedIn, and video.
  • Research and prioritize target accounts in collaboration with Account Executives, identifying the right stakeholders for complex enterprise deals.
  • Develop tailored outreach messaging that connects each prospect's specific use case to the Wikimedia Enterprise platform.
  • Build toward clear pipeline generation targets: qualified meetings booked and opportunities created, tracked monthly and quarterly.
  • Run initial discovery calls to understand prospect needs, data use cases, technical requirements, and organizational structure.
  • Qualify opportunities using a structured framework and hand off to Account Executives with a thorough, well-documented summary.
  • Ask insightful and qualifying questions about technical integration and API workflows and partner with Solutions Engineers when deeper technical dialogue is needed.
  • Advanced HubSpot user and admin, building and managing outreach sequences, drip campaigns, pipelines, reports, and automated workflows.
  • Iterate on sequences and templates using A/B testing, open-rate data, and conversion metrics.
  • Produce weekly activity reports that go beyond the numbers: what's working, what isn't, and where deals are (or aren't) moving in the pipeline.

What We Are Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in sales development, preferably in the tech or data industry.
  • Strong understanding of GTM, HubSpot, and Adjust.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding monthly and quarterly pipeline generation targets.
  • Experience working with API-based offerings and technical data products.
  • Ability to speak credibly with both business, product, and engineering stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial instincts and a structured approach to prospecting.
  • Genuine curiosity about the enterprise data landscape.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with enterprise-grade APIs and data platforms.
  • Knowledge of the current state of the data industry, including trends and emerging technologies.
  • Familiarity with the Wikimedia mission and values.
  • Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment.

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Opportunity to work with a pioneering company in the open knowledge movement.
  • Collaborative and dynamic work environment.
  • Professional development opportunities, including training and education programs.
  • Flexible working hours and remote work options.
  • Access to the latest tools and technologies, including HubSpot and Adjust.
  • A chance to make a real impact and contribute to the growth of the company.

How to Stand Out

  • Tip: Make sure to tailor your resume and cover letter to the specific requirements of the role, highlighting your experience with GTM, HubSpot, and Adjust.
  • Tip: Prepare to talk about your approach to prospecting and how you stay organized and focused in a fast-paced sales environment.
  • Tip: Research the company and the role beforehand, and be prepared to ask informed questions during the interview process.
  • Tip: Be ready to provide specific examples of your experience working with API-based offerings and technical data products.
  • Tip: Show enthusiasm and passion for the Wikimedia mission and values, and be prepared to talk about how you can contribute to the company's growth and success.
