About the Role

The Sales Executive position at Kemper is a critical component of the company's strategy to drive profitable growth in its auto insurance business. As a key member of the sales team, you will be responsible for influencing agent behavior, identifying cross-selling opportunities, and providing exceptional support to your assigned territory of independent agents. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating with internal partners to achieve intended outcomes, utilizing sales tools to drive results, and staying current on product and pricing trends.

The role requires a deep understanding of the insurance industry, particularly in the auto sector, and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with agents at all levels. You will be expected to drive new business growth, mix of business, retention, and profitability within your assigned territory. Your success will be measured by your ability to execute on the company's sales strategy and achieve financial and sales goals.

What You Will Do

  • Implement and execute sales strategies to achieve financial and sales goals
  • Collaborate with internal partners to achieve intended outcomes
  • Utilize sales tools to influence agent behavior and drive results
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell Kemper Auto products and align with agency needs
  • Manage and develop a territory of independent agents
  • Provide an outstanding experience for agents through consultative selling
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with agents at all levels within the agency
  • Drive new business growth, mix of business, retention, and profitability within assigned territory
  • Stay current on product and pricing trends to drive intended outcomes
  • Participate in regional strategy meetings to develop and lead execution of business goals
  • Assist in the implementation of new production launches

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of sales experience or insurance industry experience preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional and influential work experience required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Prioritization and organization ability
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Industry knowledge and advanced relationship management skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with independent agents
  • Knowledge of the auto insurance industry

  • Certification in insurance or a related field
