About the Role
The Sales Lead, Mid-Market role at Openai is a unique opportunity for a seasoned sales professional to lead a team of sellers across APAC. This role entails driving and implementing the overall sales strategy for the Mid-Market segment, recruiting and leading a team of sales professionals, and achieving successful deployments with customers. The ideal candidate will possess significant sales leadership experience and a comprehensive understanding of AI technologies.As part of the Go To Market (GTM) team, the Sales Lead will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, marketing, developer relations, operations, and core GTM teams. This role requires a deep understanding of the industry landscape, including people, competitors, partners, and market trends. The Sales Lead will be responsible for contributing to the product roadmap and other corporate strategies.
The GTM team at Openai is responsible for helping customers learn how to leverage and deploy AI products across their business. The team is made up of Sales, Solutions, Support, Marketing, and Partnership professionals who work together to create valuable solutions that bring AI to as many users as possible.
What You Will Do
- Lead a team of sellers across APAC, including Singapore, Korea, Australia, and India
- Partner with solutions to build and execute complex customer programs and projects
- Manage consumption revenue forecasts and closely monitor the industry landscape
- Contribute to the product roadmap and other corporate strategies
- Support the recruitment and onboarding of other teammates
- Support the development of company culture
- Build and maintain executive relationships with customers
- Design and execute complex deal strategies
- Gather, distill, and process complex market intelligence
- Report on customer success activities
- Lead high-visibility customer events, such as conferences and product launches
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of experience leading Enterprise Sales teams
- Experience selling platform-as-a-service and/or software-as-a-service at a product-led growth company
- Proven track record of designing and executing complex deal strategies
- Experience supporting the growth of fast-growing, high-performance companies
- Strong understanding of AI technologies and their applications
- Ability to adapt to a complex and fast-changing technology environment
- Excellent leadership and mentoring skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience gathering, distilling, and processing complex market intelligence
- Ability to work in a hybrid work model, with 3 days in the office per week
Nice to Have
- Experience working in the AI industry or a related field
- Knowledge of GTM strategies and their application in the sales process
