About the Role

The Sales Manager - East will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of BayWa r.e.'s East region. This involves leading a team of outside sales representatives, developing and executing sales strategies, and fostering strong relationships with key customers and manufacturer partners. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the solar distribution market, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive a culture of high performance and accountability.

As a Sales Manager at BayWa r.e., you will be part of a dynamic team that is committed to delivering exceptional results. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing sales team performance, analyzing market trends, and identifying opportunities for growth. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining key customer relationships, negotiating sales agreements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business objectives.

The Sales Manager - East will report to the Director of Sales and will work closely with other sales managers, sales representatives, and internal stakeholders to achieve regional and company-wide goals.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and manage a team of outside sales representatives to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base
  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies to drive revenue growth and increase market share
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, manufacturer partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
  • Develop and manage sales forecasts, sales reports, and other performance metrics to measure team effectiveness
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product management, and operations, to drive business objectives
  • Identify and mitigate risks, and develop contingency plans to ensure sales targets are met
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to sales team members to enhance their skills and performance
  • Develop and manage sales budgets, including travel expenses, entertainment, and other sales-related costs
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activity, and new technologies to maintain a competitive edge

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of sales management experience in the solar industry or a related field
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and expanding customer bases
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams
  • Strong understanding of the solar distribution market, including market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs
  • Expertise in Salesforce and Excel, with the ability to analyze data and develop insights to inform sales strategies
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, manufacturer partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to develop and manage sales budgets, forecasts, and other performance metrics
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, or a related field

Nice to Have

  • Experience with solar industry-specific software and systems, such as CRM systems and sales automation tools
  • Knowledge of solar panel technology, including product specifications, installation requirements, and maintenance needs
  • Familiarity with renewable energy policies, regulations, and incentives, including tax credits and rebates
  • Certification in sales leadership or management, such as the Certified Sales Leader (CSL) or Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designations
