Job Description

About the Role

The Sales Manager, Fintech role at Plaid is a unique opportunity to lead a high-performing team of Named Account Executives and drive growth through the expansion of existing relationships and competitive new logo acquisition. As a key member of the fintech sales team, you will be responsible for managing a team of 6-8 account executives and coaching them to identify and drive expansion opportunities proactively. You will also work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product, and Account Management, to maintain a consistently high win rate and remove friction from deal cycles.

The team you will be leading is focused on Plaid's largest fintech accounts, and your primary motion will be expansion. You will be responsible for driving deeper product adoption across existing accounts, winning strategic new logos, and developing your team into consistently elite performers. With a strong foundation in place, the opportunity is to raise the bar further and strengthen Plaid's market-leading position in fintech.

What You Will Do

  • Manage a team of 6-8 Named Account Executives focused on Plaid's largest fintech accounts
  • Coach AEs to identify and drive expansion opportunities proactively
  • Build and refine the account strategy for Plaid's top fintech customers alongside your AEs
  • Grow existing accounts by driving multi-product adoption and deepening executive-level relationships
  • Attain consumption-based revenue targets through a disciplined, data-driven pipeline operating rhythm
  • Develop your team through structured 1:1s, deal reviews, and skill-specific coaching
  • Maintain a high recruiting bar and assess and close exceptional AE talent as the team grows
  • Manage performance with transparency and set clear expectations
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to maintain a consistently high win rate
  • Engage directly in strategic deals as a coach and escalation point

What We Are Looking For

  • 10+ years of sales experience in B2B SaaS or platform/infrastructure sales
  • 5+ years of frontline sales management experience leading teams of quota-carrying AEs
  • Demonstrated track record of success in driving growth through expansion of existing relationships and competitive new logo acquisition
  • Strong understanding of fintech, payments, or financial services
  • Experience with consumption-based revenue models and data-driven sales strategies
  • Excellent coaching and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
