About the Role

The Sales Service Manager position at Ametek, Inc. is a unique opportunity for a seasoned sales professional to join a leading manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices. As a key member of the sales team, you will be responsible for promoting and selling aftermarket services to large industrial customers across the West Coast and Canada. Your day-to-day activities will involve developing alliances, managing sales representatives, and targeting customers in a consultative sales role.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the industry and the ability to present and sell to both commercial and technical decision-makers. You will work closely with the Director of USA & Canada Service Sales and other local support staff to ensure customer satisfaction and drive business growth.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to promote aftermarket services to industrial customers
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at customer sites
  • Manage sales representatives to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base
  • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and stay up-to-date on industry trends
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement sales plans
  • Provide quotations and work with internal resources to coordinate service activities with customers
  • Forecast sales, allocate resources, and report activities on a weekly basis
  • Maintain a current customer database with up-to-date information and notes detailing weekly events and opportunity advancement
  • Develop a strategy for winning opportunities and follow up on sales leads in a timely manner
  • Communicate customer needs to the company through established channels and keep management updated on progress

What We Are Looking For

  • 7+ years of direct sales experience in a fast-paced technological environment
  • 2+ years of sales management experience, preferably in a high-tech product environment
  • Proven sales track record, delivering outstanding results in prior positions
  • Capacity to build creative sales plans and sales initiatives with a long-term vision of the business
  • Proven track record in business development, particularly in acquiring new business in large accounts from scratch
  • Good negotiation and customer relation skills
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and Excel
  • Ability to travel upwards of 50-70%
  • BSEE or equivalent, or equivalent technical sales experience
