About the Role

The Sales Strategy and Operations role at OpenAI is a critical component of the company's Go-To-Market (GTM) team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for driving the GTM strategy and operational efficiency, working closely with cross-functional stakeholders to align efforts and drive growth. The GTM team is comprised of sales, solutions, support, marketing, and partnership professionals who work together to create valuable solutions that help bring AI to as many users as possible.

The Sales Strategy and Operations expert will play a vital role in guiding the GTM strategy, providing data-driven insights, managing core operating cadences, and leading high-impact projects that influence how OpenAI engages with customers and scales its business. This role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, operational expertise, and collaborative leadership.

As a trusted advisor to GTM leadership, you will be responsible for conducting strategic analyses to determine trends and identify opportunities for process and strategy optimization. You will also collaborate with GTM leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to develop go-to-market strategies and resource plans, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.

What You Will Do

  • Drive GTM operating cadences, including forecasting, pipeline review, top accounts review, and monthly/quarterly business reviews
  • Conduct strategic analyses to determine trends and identify opportunities for process and strategy optimization
  • Collaborate with GTM leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to develop go-to-market strategies and resource plans
  • Design and manage territory allocation to optimize sales team performance
  • Lead strategic projects to improve efficiency and effectiveness across the revenue organization
  • Partner closely with technical teams to implement processes systematically
  • Work closely with the data team to ensure data accuracy and availability for revenue-related activities
  • Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure sales team performance
  • Provide data-driven recommendations for territory adjustments and sales strategy optimization
  • Collaborate with the enablement team to develop training programs and sales enablement tools

What We Are Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience in revenue operations or strategy at a high-growth, technology company
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on attention to detail
  • Experience building territories, comp plans, and setting quotas for GTM teams
  • Proficiency in Salesforce.com and Adjust
  • Strong communication skills and executive presence
  • Ability to operate with high horsepower, frequent context switching, and working on multiple projects at once
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and work autonomously
  • Understanding of the AI landscape, applications, and the problems they solve for customers
  • Strong project management skills, with experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Exceptional organizational skills
