Job Description

About the Role

GiveWell, a renowned research organization focused on global health and well-being, is seeking a skilled Salesforce Administrator to join their team. This role is pivotal in supporting internal users, enhancing the overall user experience, and ensuring the reliability and consistency of data across their Salesforce instance. The successful candidate will be responsible for the support, maintenance, and roadmap of core products leveraging Salesforce NPSP, as well as providing frontline support for their custom Salesforce application.

The Salesforce Administrator will be part of a team that is dedicated to identifying and funding cost-effective giving opportunities. With tens of thousands of donors relying on GiveWell's research to inform their giving, the organization has experienced significant growth, directing over $400 million in 2025, a substantial increase from

.5 million in 2010. This growth underscores the importance of a robust and efficient Salesforce system to manage outreach, donations, grants, and service consoles effectively.

The role comes at a critical juncture for GiveWell, as the current Technology team has only one Salesforce Administrator, leading to a high volume of day-to-day support requests with little room for proactive improvements or innovations. The new administrator will share the support load, bring additional expertise to the team, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the systems that underpin GiveWell's life-saving work.

What You Will Do

  • Support and maintain the Salesforce instance, ensuring data quality and user experience are continuously improved.
  • Fully own the support, maintenance, and roadmap of core products leveraging Salesforce NPSP.
  • Provide frontline support for the custom Salesforce application.
  • Manage and optimize Outreach CRM, Gift/Donation Processing System, Grants administration, Service Console/Case Management, and Reports & Dashboards.
  • Collaborate with the Technology team to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to reduce technical debt and enhance data quality.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of Salesforce customizations, processes, and best practices.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure data consistency and reliability across the Salesforce instance.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and provide tailored support and solutions.
  • Stay updated with the latest Salesforce features and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve GiveWell's Salesforce environment.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Salesforce Administrator, preferably in a non-profit or similar environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Salesforce, including NPSP, and ability to apply this knowledge to solve complex problems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with data management, including data quality, data governance, and data analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Familiarity with IT project management principles and practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Salesforce development, including Apex and Visualforce.
  • Knowledge of integration technologies, such as APIs and ETL tools.
  • Certification in Salesforce Administration or Development.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high level of ambiguity.

Benefits and Perks

  • Opportunity to work with a renowned non-profit organization making a significant impact in global health and well-being.
  • Collaborative and dynamic work environment with a team of dedicated professionals.
  • Professional development opportunities, including training and certification in Salesforce and other relevant technologies.
  • Flexible and remote work arrangements, with the ability to work from anywhere in the United States.
  • Access to the latest technology and tools, including Salesforce and associated applications.
  • Competitive compensation package, reflective of the candidate's experience and qualifications.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.

How to Stand Out

  • Ensure you have a thorough understanding of Salesforce, particularly SFNPSP, and be prepared to discuss your experience and how it applies to this role.
  • Highlight any experience you have working in non-profit or similar environments, and how you can leverage this to support GiveWell's mission.
  • Be prepared to provide specific examples of how you have improved data quality, reduced technical debt, and enhanced user experience in previous Salesforce administration roles.
