Job Description

About the Role

As a Scrum Master at Avum Inc., you will play a critical role in facilitating Agile delivery for assigned development and QA teams. Your primary objective will be to lead Scrum ceremonies, remove impediments, and ensure that teams deliver value consistently through each sprint. You will work closely with the Release Manager to coordinate release scoping and deployment readiness, and track and report on sprint metrics, velocity, and team health.

The Scrum Master role is a key component of Avum Inc.'s Agile framework, and you will be responsible for coaching team members on Agile principles and self-organization. You will also manage JIRA backlog and sprint boards, and coordinate with government testers on acceptance testing and feedback. Your expertise in Scrum will enable the team to deliver high-quality products and services, meeting the company's high standards.

In this role, you will be working in a hybrid/remote work environment, with potential on-site requirements based on contract needs. What You Will Do

  • Lead Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, daily standup, sprint review, retrospective) for assigned teams
  • Coordinate with Release Manager on release scoping and deployment readiness
  • Track and report on sprint metrics, velocity, and team health
  • Remove impediments and facilitate cross-team dependencies
  • Coach team members on Agile principles and self-organization
  • Manage JIRA backlog and sprint boards
  • Coordinate with government testers on acceptance testing and feedback
  • Ensure teams deliver value consistently through each sprint
  • Collaborate with the development team to identify and prioritize project requirements
  • Develop and maintain the project schedule, ensuring that it is realistic and achievable

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master
  • CSM or PSM certification
  • Active Secret clearance
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Proficiency with JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Strong understanding of Scrum principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Nice to Have

  • SAFe Scrum Master or PMI-ACP certification
  • Technical background in software development
  • Experience working in government/DoD Agile environments
  • Experience coordinating distributed teams
  • Knowledge of ITAR/EAR export control regulations
