About the Role
The Scrum Master role at Group 1001 is a critical component of the company's agile development environment. As a Scrum Master, you will be responsible for managing development sprints from planning to execution and review, ensuring seamless collaboration between the engineering, customer success, and senior management teams. Your expertise in agile methodologies and frameworks like Scrum and Kanban will be essential in driving team performance and delivering outstanding value to customers.The Scrum Master role is part of the Onyx platform team, a robust, multi-module annuity administrative platform that plays a critical role in streamlining processes and enhancing customer experience across the organization. As a Scrum Master, you will work closely with the engineering team to facilitate daily stand-ups, iteration planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring that the team is aligned and working towards common goals.

What You Will Do
- Facilitate daily stand-ups, iteration planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure team alignment and progress
- Manage engineering development projects and facilitate sprint releases to drive team performance and delivery
- Create or analyze business requirements documents and project timelines to ensure clarity and focus
- Guide the team in time estimating practices and facilitate team estimates to improve forecasting and planning
- Drive team iteration execution, communicate with management and stakeholders, and protect the team from uncontrolled work injection
- Manage project conflicts, challenges, and dynamic business requirements to maintain high performance and team morale
- Work with team leads to resolve people problems and project roadblocks, ensuring that the team remains focused and productive
- Conduct post-mortem and root cause analysis to help teams continuously improve their practices and ensure maximum productivity
- Lead team efforts in relentless improvement, defining and implementing improvement stories to increase the velocity and quality of the program
- Implement and support agile principles, rules, and processes to drive team performance and delivery
- Proactively identify and eliminate impediments and facilitate flow to ensure that the team remains focused and productive
- Maintain team data in project management software (Jira) to support estimates and execution
What We Are Looking For
- BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience in a related field
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience, with at least 4 years leading sprints in an agile development environment
- Demonstrable expertise in agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, etc.
- Strong understanding of Jira, including global administration and configuration
- Thrives in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with a strong emphasis on communication and teamwork
- Expert coach on the implementation of agile Scrum, with a deep understanding of the fundamentals of iterative and incremental development
- Solid experience working with teams to assess and size stories/epics, with a strong understanding of agile metrics and analytics
- Passionate commitment to delivering products on time, with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction
- Ability to understand and represent both the business and technology perspectives, with excellent communication skills in person, over the phone, and through email
- Self-motivated and organized, with a strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Nice to Have
- Experience working with remote teams and distributed agile development environments
- Knowledge of Excel and other productivity tools, with a strong ability to analyze and interpret data
- Certification in Scrum or agile methodologies, such as CSM or CSPO
- Experience working in the insurance or financial services industry, with a strong understanding of the regulatory environment and compliance requirements
