Job Description

## About the Role The Scrum Master position at Haystack is a critical component of the company's engineering team, focusing on applying Agile best practices to ensure project success. The role entails coaching the development team on sprint goals, facilitating Agile ceremonies, and collecting and writing detailed user stories. This position matters because it directly contributes to the team's ability to deliver high-quality projects efficiently and effectively. The Scrum Master will work closely with the development team, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration. Day-to-day, the Scrum Master will be involved in various activities, including sprint planning, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives. They will also analyze and improve business processes in collaboration with the project team, maintaining a product backlog and supporting QA and requirement validation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Agile principles and the ability to apply them in a pragmatic way to support the team's goals.   • Analyze and improve business processes in collaboration with the project team.
  • Maintain a product backlog and support QA and requirement validation.
  • Lead client delivery engagements and interact with senior-level client management.
  • Teach basic Agile framework concepts to technical teams.
  • Manage and integrate Jira boards for multiple teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase team efficiency and productivity.
## What We Are Looking For - 2+ years of experience as a Scrum Master for an engineering team.
  • Proven experience with Jira, including managing and integrating Jira boards for multiple teams.
  • Experience leading client delivery engagements and interacting with senior-level client management.
  • Ability to teach basic Agile framework concepts to technical teams.
  • A Secret security clearance.
  • A Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and the ability to apply them in a pragmatic way.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex issues.
## Nice to Have - Experience in the defense and national security industries.
  • Knowledge of other Agile methodologies, such as Kanban or Lean.
  • Certification in Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent.
  • Experience with other project management tools, such as Asana or Trello.
