About the Role
As a Security Engineer, Cloud at Ramp, you will be responsible for driving the cloud security roadmap, reviewing cloud deployments to identify opportunities for improvement, and designing and building security-focused infrastructure primitives. This role is critical in ensuring the security and integrity of Ramp's financial systems, which process overThe Security Engineering team at Ramp is focused on making the company the most secure place for customers to collect, manage, and utilize their business's financial information. The team's work is centered around three key areas: building products with an eye for security, detecting and responding to threats before they cause harm, and powering Ramp's growth through security. To achieve these goals, the team leverages a range of technologies, including AWS, Terraform, and Python.
What You Will Do
- Drive the cloud security roadmap, identifying areas for improvement and implementing new security measures
- Design and build security-focused infrastructure primitives and integrate them into existing products and development processes
- Lead remediation of prioritized issues across the technology stack
- Partner with infrastructure, data, and devops teams to design and deploy secure solutions
- Review cloud deployments to identify opportunities for improvement
- Develop and implement security protocols to protect against potential threats
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the business
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve Ramp's security posture
- Participate in incident response and remediation efforts as needed
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of experience building software, with a focus on security
- Minimum 3 years of experience building in AWS (with Terraform)
- A strong sense of ownership and drive to deliver high-quality results
- Experience with Python (Flask) and Terraform
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on continuous growth and improvement
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Nice to Have
- Experience with Azure, GCP, and other cloud providers
- Experience improving the developer experience and security properties of a multi-service deployment
- Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g. SOC 2, HIPAA)
