About the Role

The Security Engineer position at Exodus Movement Inc. is a critical role that involves designing and implementing scalable defensive systems across enterprise and production environments. This is not just about traditional monitoring; it's about creating systems that can detect and respond to threats effectively, utilizing both AI-assisted and traditional solutions. The day-to-day responsibilities will include building smart, AI-assisted automation to reduce manual security work, connecting and enriching security data across various tools, and improving the speed and confidence with which alerts are understood and prioritized. This role requires a deep understanding of security concepts, including AI security, and the ability to integrate AI/LLM-based tooling into security workflows.

Reporting to the Cyber Defense team, the Security Engineer will play an active role in security hardening, investigations, and incident response, working closely with other teams to ensure a comprehensive approach to security.

What You Will Do

  • Design and implement scalable automation that empowers the Cyber Defense team to detect, triage, and respond to threats more effectively.
  • Build AI-assisted automation to reduce manual security work and enhance incident response readiness.
  • Connect and enrich security data across enterprise and security tools to improve threat detection.
  • Play an active role in security hardening, investigations, and incident response to ensure comprehensive security.
  • Create scalable automation that makes the Cyber Defense team more effective in their responses.
  • Continuously reduce the attack surface across our enterprise and production environments.
  • Improve the speed and confidence with which alerts are understood and prioritized.
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure security is integrated into the development lifecycle.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of security protocols and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats and technologies to continuously improve our security posture.

What We Are Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience in Security Engineering, Detection Engineering, and/or Incident Response.
  • Hands-on experience building AI-driven security automation or agentic workflows.
  • Understanding of AI security concepts and experience integrating AI/LLM-based tooling into security workflows.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages for automation and API integrations.
  • Experience building and improving SecDevOps automations.
  • Comfort working with SIEMs (queries, alert tuning).
  • Familiarity with EDR platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud security platforms.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA.
  • Certification in security engineering or a related field.
  • Experience working in an agile development environment.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools.
