About the Role

The Security Intern role at ezCater is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in security engineering and compliance. As a member of the Security Engineering and Compliance team, you will work alongside experienced Security Engineers and Security Analysts to design and implement practical, scalable risk management and security solutions. Your day-to-day tasks will involve supporting security assessments, automating recurring security and compliance activities, and contributing to maintaining a healthy posture of security tools and automations.

What You Will Do

  • Learn about ezCater's users, systems, and security posture, and how security enables the company's product and business goals
  • Support security assessments of code and infrastructure changes with guidance from Security Engineers
  • Assist with automating recurring security and compliance activities, such as vulnerability scanning, risk assessments, and control validation
  • Help create and tune monitoring and detective alerts for security operations, non-compliance, and incident response
  • Contribute to maintaining a healthy posture of security tools and automations by helping with configuration, troubleshooting, and documentation
  • Assist with collecting, organizing, and reviewing audit evidence for SOC 2
  • Participate in security incident response exercises and post-incident reviews
  • Collaborate with the Security Engineering and Compliance team to design and implement practical, scalable risk management and security solutions
  • Support the development of security policies, procedures, and standards
  • Assist with security awareness training and education for ezCater employees

What We Are Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
  • Strong foundation in security principles, including risk management, threat analysis, and vulnerability assessment
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and regulations, such as SOC 2 and PCI-DSS
  • Experience with security tools and technologies, such as vulnerability scanners, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality results
  • Familiarity with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Azure
  • Experience with automation tools, such as Python or PowerShell
