About the Role
The Security Operations Analyst role at Remote Raven is a critical part of the company's security team, responsible for monitoring and managing security systems to protect clients' assets. This involves responding to automated alerts, reviewing video footage, and taking decisive action to prevent or mitigate potential security breaches. The successful candidate will be an experienced security professional with a strong understanding of security protocols and systems, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. As a Security Operations Analyst, you will be working closely with the security team to ensure the integrity of clients' security protocols. This will involve collaborating with colleagues to review and respond to alerts, as well as providing input on security procedures and protocols. The role is fast-paced and dynamic, with a high volume of alerts to respond to, so the ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively is essential. - Monitor and respond to automated alerts generated by security systems
- Review video footage and other data to determine the severity of potential security breaches
- Take decisive action to prevent or mitigate security breaches, including issuing verbal commands and contacting law enforcement
- Collaborate with colleagues to review and respond to alerts
- Provide input on security procedures and protocols
- Document all activity and incidents, including preparing detailed reports
- Maintain situational awareness across multiple client sites and monitoring queues
- Prioritize alerts based on severity and immediacy
- Maintain communication professionalism, even in high-pressure situations
- Perform shift handoff procedures to ensure continuity of monitoring operations
What We Are Looking For
- College coursework in Criminal Justice, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- Prior experience in a Security Operations Center, dispatch center, or security monitoring center
- Strong computer proficiency, with the ability to learn and operate multiple software platforms
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to prepare detailed reports
- Ability to issue confident, professional verbal commands over public-address systems
- Strong situational awareness and decision-making abilities under pressure
- Ability to follow detailed protocols and escalate incidents appropriately
- Experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Nice to Have
- Experience with Verkada's integrated security platform
- Knowledge of TMA-AVS-01 Alarm Validation Standards
- Certification in cybersecurity or a related field
