About the Role

The Security Sales Engineer at Datadog plays a pivotal role in the company's mission to empower businesses to innovate faster by providing them with the tools to seamlessly integrate and automate security into their operations. This role is integral to driving the adoption of Datadog's security offerings within strategic accounts, working closely with the sales team to identify and address security requirements across the enterprise customer base. As a Security Sales Engineer, you will be at the forefront of demonstrating the value of Datadog's security solutions, providing technical expertise throughout the sales cycle, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Day-to-day, you will engage with potential and existing clients, showcasing the capabilities and benefits of Datadog's security products through detailed product demonstrations and presentations. Your deep understanding of security principles, industry trends, and current vulnerabilities will be crucial in providing support during customer evaluations and proof-of-value initiatives. Collaboration with the product management and engineering teams will also be key, as you relay customer feedback to influence product development and ensure that Datadog's solutions meet the evolving needs of its customers.

What You Will Do

  • Support the Enterprise Security Sales team in driving the adoption of Datadog's security offering within target strategic accounts.
  • Collaborate with the broader sales team to identify and understand security requirements across Datadog's Enterprise customer base.
  • Conduct detailed product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the capabilities and benefits of Datadog's security solutions.
  • Provide technical expertise and support throughout the sales cycle, including during customer evaluations and proof-of-value initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Datadog's security products, industry trends, and current vulnerabilities.
  • Assist in the creation of technical proposals, documentation, and other sales materials.
  • Work closely with the product management and engineering teams to relay customer feedback and influence product development.
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, and webinars to promote Datadog's security solutions.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base.
  • Engage in continuous learning to stay updated with the latest security trends, technologies, and threats.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Deep experience with SIEM platforms and detection pipelines, SOC workflows, endpoint security, and the deployment and tuning of security controls in live customer environments.
  • Expert knowledge of the developer and DevOps ecosystems and application security best practices.
  • Strong understanding of security principles and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related security tools and technologies.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% to meet with customers and attend industry events.
  • Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and presentation.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Datadog's products or similar cloud-based monitoring and security platforms.
  • Certifications in security or related fields (e.g., CISSP, CEH).
  • Experience in a sales engineering role, preferably in the cybersecurity industry.
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
