About the Role
The Security Systems Developer role at ShorePoint Inc is a critical position that involves designing, developing, and evaluating the security of information systems. This role is essential in ensuring that systems are secure, reliable, and compliant with industry standards. As a Security Systems Developer, you will be working closely with a team of experts to identify and mitigate security risks, develop secure code, and implement security measures to protect against cyber threats.The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include performing risk analyses, developing mitigation strategies, and conducting security reviews to identify gaps in system architecture. You will also be responsible for recommending security changes to system components and incorporating vulnerability solutions into system designs. This role requires a deep understanding of security principles, industry standards, and best practices.
The Security Systems Developer will be reporting to a senior manager and will be working closely with a team of developers, engineers, and security experts. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about cybersecurity, has a strong technical background, and is able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
What You Will Do
- Design, develop, and evaluate the security of information systems
- Perform risk analyses and develop mitigation strategies
- Conduct security reviews to identify gaps in system architecture
- Recommend security changes to system components and incorporate vulnerability solutions into system designs
- Develop detailed security design documentation for components and interfaces
- Identify components and elements, allocate security functions, and describe relationships between system elements
- Recommend security designs for new or existing systems and direct remediation of technical issues discovered during testing and implementation
- Identify, assess, and recommend cybersecurity or cybersecurity-enabled products for system use
- Provide input to implementation plans, SOPs, RMF process activities, and documentation
- Support security/certification test and evaluation activities
- Verify stability, interoperability, portability, and scalability of the system architecture and security design
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in security systems development or a related field
- Strong understanding of security principles, industry standards, and best practices
- Experience with secure coding practices and secure code reviews
- Knowledge of NIST and OWASP standards
- Experience with risk analysis and mitigation strategies
- Strong technical background in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python
- Experience with security testing and evaluation
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud security and cloud-based systems
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning security
- Experience with DevOps and agile development methodologies
- Certification in cybersecurity or a related field, such as CISSP or CEH
