About the Role
The Senior Account Executive position at Turnitin is a critical role focused on driving business growth through strategic account management and new business acquisition. As a key member of the sales team, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities, building and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients, and developing strategic plans to achieve sales targets. Your day-to-day activities will involve a mix of sales strategy, customer engagement, and teamwork, all aimed at expanding Turnitin's presence in the Japanese market.The role is highly autonomous, with a strong emphasis on results and performance. You will be expected to work closely with the sales and marketing teams to align sales strategies with overall business objectives and to leverage marketing initiatives to drive sales growth. Your expertise in Salesforce and other sales enablement tools will be crucial in managing sales pipelines, tracking customer interactions, and analyzing sales performance.
As a senior member of the team, you will also be involved in mentoring junior sales professionals, sharing best practices, and contributing to the overall growth and development of the sales function. Your insights and recommendations will help shape the company's sales strategy and improve its competitive positioning in the market.
What You Will Do
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand the company's customer base in Japan.
- Identify, pursue, and close new sales opportunities through a combination of cold outreach, networking, and relationship-building.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers at existing and prospective client companies.
- Conduct needs assessments and presentations to prospective clients, demonstrating the value and benefits of Turnitin's solutions.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements that meet both the client's needs and the company's revenue targets.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, and customer success teams, to ensure alignment and effective support.
- Utilize Salesforce and other sales tools to manage sales pipelines, track customer interactions, and analyze sales performance.
- Provide regular sales forecasts and pipeline updates to sales leadership.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments to continuously improve sales strategies.
What We Are Looking For
- A minimum of 5 years of quota-carrying experience in tech SaaS sales, with a proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Native Japanese and business-level English language skills.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Proficiency in Salesforce.com and other sales enablement tools.
- Strong understanding of institutional decision cycles and procurement processes.
- Excellent storytelling, consultative sales, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting and as part of a global team.
- Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in managing complex sales cycles and navigating multiple stakeholders.
