About the Role
The Senior Accountant position at LAULAU is a critical role that involves managing financial portfolios for US-based CPA and accounting firm clients. As a high-caliber and reliable accountant, you will be responsible for driving the execution of complex accounting cycles, ensuring clean closing workflows, and interacting professionally with client stakeholders in a high-performing remote environment. The role requires a strong understanding of financial regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of overall accounting experience, including at least 3 years working recently inside a US accounting/CPA firm. A proven track record of employment stability, with a minimum of 2 years of continuous tenure in each past role, is also essential. Strong professional English communication skills are necessary for direct, front-facing advisory interactions with US clients.
What You Will Do
- Perform senior-level financial management, including daily ledger oversight and advanced data categorization
- Execute mandatory monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations for diverse business entities
- Conduct comprehensive month-end and year-end closing procedures under strict compliance timelines
- Calculate and process annual sales tax liabilities and multi-state compliance filings
- Generate and analyze foundational financial reporting packages, including Trial Balances, P&L statements, and Balance Sheets
- Interact professionally with client stakeholders, providing expert guidance and support
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and improve processes
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Provide training and guidance to junior team members as needed
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum 10 years of overall accounting experience, including at least 3 years working recently inside a US accounting/CPA firm
- Proven employment stability, with a minimum of 2 years of continuous tenure in each past role
- Strong professional English communication skills for direct, front-facing advisory interactions with US clients
- Documented history of positive professional references from at least two former US employers
- Experience with financial management software and systems
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
