About the Role
The Senior Accountant role at LEARN Behavioral is a critical position that entails managing the day-to-day transactional activities of the company. This includes supporting month-end close, analysis, and reporting to ensure enterprise financial organizational success. As a key member of the accounting team, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing and analyzing journal entries, financial activity, and monthly general ledger reconciliations.The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Controller or Assistant Controller and may manage one or more Staff Accountants. This role requires a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and advanced knowledge of MS Excel. The ideal candidate will be able to manage and provide detailed analysis as a subject matter expert for their area of accounting responsibility.

What You Will Do
- Prepare and analyze journal entries and financial activity
- Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations
- Enter and reconcile revenue, accounts receivable, and cash receipts
- Continuously improve processes and controls
- Support the Accounting team with day-to-day operations
- Interface with individuals within and outside of the organization to ensure proper treatment of accounting transactions
- Investigate errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
- Take full responsibility for areas of accounting responsibility
- Participate in improving internal controls, policies, procedures, and documentation
- Support periodic and annual audits and tax filings and payments
- Work effectively under tight deadlines in a team environment
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business
- 5+ years of experience in accounting
- Strong practical working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains)
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- Analytic, detail-oriented, and inquisitive
- Demonstrated ability to meet monthly closing and project deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and accountability
- Desire to take on increasing responsibility
Nice to Have
- CPA certification
- Experience with insurance billing, services business, project-based accounting systems, time and materials contracts, and/or labor-based invoicing
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains)
