About the Role

The Senior Accountant position at Cornerstone Building Brands is a critical component of the Metal Solutions accounting team. This role involves managing financial operations across multiple ERPs, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.

The Senior Accountant will report to the Metal Solutions Accounting Supervisor and will be responsible for overseeing daily general ledger activities, conducting financial analysis, and preparing financial reports. This role requires a high level of organizational skill, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

What You Will Do

  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a thorough and efficient manner
  • Oversee daily general ledger activities across multiple ERPs, maintaining accuracy and consistency
  • Conduct financial analysis of key metrics and generate reports to support management decisions
  • Prepare and review journal entries in accordance with US GAAP, ensuring compliance and accuracy
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing financial insights to inform business decisions
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies, maintaining a high level of integrity in financial operations
  • Coordinate and assist with internal and external audit requests, providing necessary documentation and support
  • Assist in developing and carrying out process improvement initiatives, driving efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations
  • Provide ad-hoc support to Division and Segment leadership, offering financial guidance and expertise as needed

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a strong foundation in accounting principles and practices
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with a progression of responsibilities and a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as Oracle R12, NetSuite, JDE, or Epicor, with the ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide insightful recommendations
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and communication
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
