About the Role

The Senior Accountant position at Name is a full-time, remote role that requires a high level of expertise in accounting principles and practices. As a key member of the accounting team, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the accounting department, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate and timely financial data management. Your work will have a direct impact on the organization's ability to achieve its mission of supporting student parents.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with significant experience in using QuickBooks Online and Bill.com. You will be working on a US shift and will be required to manage the accounts payable and receivable processes, review and process vendor invoices, employee expenses, and client billings.

What You Will Do

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all financial data
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Oversee and manage the month-end and year-end close processes
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
  • Manage the accounts payable and receivable processes using QuickBooks Online and Bill.com
  • Review and process vendor invoices, employee expenses, and client billings
  • Ensure timely collection of receivables and payment of payables
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts
  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Bill.com
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with financial data management and analysis
  • Ability to work on a US shift and manage remote teams

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Bill.com and QuickBooks Online integration
