About the Role
The Senior Accountant role at Samsara Inc. is a critical position within the US accounting team, responsible for managing highly visible accounting areas with a focus on excellence and innovation. As a key member of the team, you will be supported directly by the Accounting Manager and will have the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams to drive business growth. With the company's commitment to using AI tools, you will be at the forefront of adopting new technologies to streamline accounting processes.The role entails working on complex accounting areas, including internal-use software, inventory, deferred commissions, and marketable securities, among others. Your expertise in technical accounting judgment will be essential in evaluating transactions and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for owning end-to-end GL month-end close activities, preparing and reviewing account reconciliations, and demonstrating deep ownership of assigned areas.

What You Will Do
- Own end-to-end GL month-end close activities across complex, high-visibility account areas
- Prepare and review account reconciliations for assigned areas
- Demonstrate deep ownership of assigned areas, including internal-use software, inventory, and marketable securities
- Apply technical accounting judgment to evaluate transactions and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Work with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and improve financial operations
- Adopt and utilize AI tools to streamline accounting processes
- Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to develop and implement accounting policies and procedures
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making
- Develop and maintain financial models to forecast and analyze financial performance
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a similar role or industry
- Expertise in Excel and financial modeling
- Strong technical accounting skills, including knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with AI tools and accounting software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Certification in accounting, such as CPA or CMA, preferred

- Experience with cloud-based accounting systems
- Knowledge of data analytics and visualization tools
- Familiarity with accounting standards and regulations
