About the Role
As a Senior Accountant at Volt, you will play a critical role in building the financial foundation of a rapidly scaling company. You will be responsible for managing the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and driving audit readiness. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role that requires a unique combination of technical accounting expertise, systems knowledge, and process management skills.The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with experience in financial close, revenue recognition, and audit preparation. You will be working closely with the CFO and other stakeholders to drive financial excellence and ensure the company's financial systems are scalable and efficient.

What You Will Do
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Drive accurate ASC 606 revenue recognition for multi-year, multi-element software and deployment contracts
- Partner with Sales and Legal on contract review for non-standard terms
- Prepare the company for its first full external financial audit, owning PBC schedules, working papers, technical memos, and direct interaction with external auditors
- Manage invoicing, accounts receivable, collections, and customer billing inquiries
- Manage AP, vendor onboarding, expense reports, corporate card programs, and 1099 reporting
- Manage corporate income tax, multi-jurisdiction sales and use tax, property tax, and other state and federal filings
- Own the tax calendar end-to-end and ensure the company stays current and compliant
- Manage the payroll function, including semi-monthly payroll runs, payroll tax filings, benefits, and 401(k) reconciliations
- Compute sales commissions and partner with People Ops on new hires, terminations, and multi-state and international payroll
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with strong working knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition
- Experience owning a monthly close end-to-end, including reconciliations, accruals, and flux analysis
- Demonstrated experience supporting an external audit, including PBC management, walkthroughs, and schedule preparation
- Hands-on experience with a modern ERP, such as NetSuite or Sage Intacct, and adjacent billing, expense, and AP automation tools
- Excellent attention to detail and process discipline, with a strong focus on clean ledgers, tight reconciliations, and well-documented workpapers
- Strong communication and partnership skills, with the ability to work with auditors, advisors, and non-finance teams across the company
- CPA license or actively pursuing CPA
- Big 4 or public accounting background, followed by industry experience

- Knowledge of sales and use tax, including implementation and management of sales and use tax systems
- Experience with SOC-readiness and internal controls
